NIST & OCR Announces of 8th Annual Safeguarding Health Information: Building Assurance through HIPAA Security Conference

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Office for Civil Rights (OCR) had announced to co-host the 8th annual conference, Safeguarding Health Information: Building Assurance through HIPAA Security, on 2nd and 3rd September, 2015 at the Grand Hyatt, Washington, D.C.
The Safeguarding Health Information: Building Assurance through HIPAA Security Conference will help explore the present health information technology security setting and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Security Rule. This conference will also emphasize the current state of health information security, and practical strategies, tips and techniques for implementing the HIPAA Security Rule. The main aim of the HIPAA Security Rule is to fix federal standards to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of electronic protected health information by requiring HIPAA covered entities and their business associates to implement and maintain administrative, physical and technical safeguards.
The Safeguarding Health Information: Building Assurance through HIPAA Security Conference will also present events discovering security management and technical assurance of electronic health information. Also the seminar will cover up many present issues that include updates on the Omnibus HIPAA/HITECH Final Rule, breach management, business associate liability, managing 3rd party risk, securing medical devices, and more.
