Nov 14 Marks Closure of CCHIT

The Certification Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT) announced last week that they will be closing down their operations. The board of trustees decided to close CCHIT after careful consideration of unpredictable future legislation and training requirements. The Commission was the groundbreaking organization in healthcare IT training and certification. Despite the sustainability of the organization, the unforeseeable changes in the future have prompted the closure. The current staff of CCHIT are helping with the closure. All properties held by CCHIT are being donated to the HIMSS Foundation. For further information about the closure, read here.
